Christopher Newsom is a Senior Insider Threat Program Specialist at PKH Enterprises. Chris received his Bachelors degree in Emergency Health Services from the University of Maryland Baltimore County. He currently holds certifications in the disciplines of digital forensics, insider threat, and cyber-investigations from distinguished institutions including Carnegie-Mellon University and the Center for Development of Security Excellence.
Prior to coming to work at PKH, Chris has been a key operational stakeholder in the development, implementation and operations of several insider threat programs spanning government agencies, private sector organizations and commercial customers. His previous work experience includes driving insider threat policy, creating operational procedures, managing investigations, liaison with federal law enforcement, advisory to agency General Counsel and Congressional testimony. Chris began as a Detective with the Baltimore City Police Department in the Organized Crime Division’s Computer and Electronic Crimes Unit, supporting all departmental investigative units, the Assistant States Attorney’s Office and several Federal Task Forces.
With over 20 years of investigations experience as a law enforcement officer, Federal Employee, private sector consultant and contractor, Chris is recognized as a Subject Matter Expert in insider threat analysis and investigation.
In his spare time, Chris enjoys cooking, being outdoors and spending time with family.
